[장선희 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 오는 9월 6일부터 시작되는 국제방송영상콘텐츠마켓 'BCWW 2021'에서 의정부영상미디어센터 박진식 센터장이 초청 연사로 강연한다고 밝혔다. 

BCWW 2021(BroadCast WorldWide)은 문화체육관광부가 주최하고 한국콘텐츠진흥원이 주관하는 아시아 최대 규모의 국제방송영상마켓 행사로, 우수한 방송영상콘텐츠를 세계에 선보이고, 해외수출 기회를 제공하기 위해 오는 9월 6일부터 9월 10일까지 5일간 온·오프라인으로 진행된다고 했다.  

이번 강연에서 박진식 센터장은 ‘글로벌 포맷 스탠다드’를 주제로, 글로벌 포맷의 여러 사례를 살펴보고 국내 방송영상 포맷을 글로벌화하기 위한 데이터베이스 분석과 수익성 연구의 중요성을 논했다고 했다.    

특히, 글로벌 포맷 스탠다드를 위해서는 '창의성', '시도', '분석', '데이터 관리', '포맷화', 5가지 요인을 잘 갖추어 포맷을 구성해야 한다고 강조했고, 또한 그는 철저한 사전 분석과 치밀한 포맷 구성을 위해 포맷 연구 재원이 수반되어야 한다고 말하며, 겉으로는 잘 드러나지 않는 기술 환경적 영역 역시 함께 주목해야 한다고 덧붙였고, 사전 녹화를 통해 비대면으로 진행된 이번 강연은 전 세계 포맷 산업 관련 방송사, 제작사, 배급사 구매자들이 자유롭게 시청할 수 있도록 유튜브 방송을 통해 온·오프라인으로 제공된다고 했다.

의정부영상미디어센터 박진식 센터장은 “글로벌 포맷 스탠다드 등 한국 방송영상 사업 발전의 근간은 결국 그것을 향유하는 시민의 영상문화 발전에 있다.”며 “의정부영상미디어센터는 다양한 영상미디어 교육과 문화향유 기회를 제공함으로써 시민의 영상문화 발전을 위해 힘쓰겠다.”고 밝혔다. 

이번 강연의 연사로 초청된 박진식 센터장은 ‘Ranking Wahong’, ‘I love School’, ‘A Beautiful Pinwheel’, ‘Sensuous Donation Show’, ‘Song for World’, ‘The Bus’ 등 다수의 방송영상 포맷을 창작하고 수출한 바 있으며, 관련 연구 논문들이 우수 학술저널에 게재되면서 세계 3대 인명사전 중 하나인 '마르퀴스 후즈후 인 더 월드'에 2016년, 2017년 2년 연속 등재된 바 있다고 했다.

한편, 의정부영상미디어센터는 의정부 시민의 영상 활용 능력을 높이고 시민 간의 소통과 지역사회의 원활한 교류를 목적으로 하는 공공미디어 서비스 시설로, 신한대학교 산학협력단이 위탁받아 운영 중이라고 했다.
