동두천시는 단속기간 중 동두천시·동두천경찰서·자율방범대로 구성된 합동단속반을 편성해 도시 공원 및 녹지 등에서 22시 이후 야외음주 및 코로나19 방역수칙 위반 행위를 집중 단속한다고 했다.

집중 단속내용은 「감염병의 예방 및 관리에 관한 법률」위반사항 등에 관한 것으로, 위반 시 과태료를 부과받게 된다고 했다.

동두천시는 앞서 7월 9일, 수도권 방역조치 강화방안에 따라 22시 이후 공원 내 야외음주 금지 행정명령을 고시한 바 있다고 전했다.

최용덕 동두천시장은  “경찰과 함께하는 심야시간대 공원 음주단속을 통해 코로나19 확산을 저지하겠다”며  “시민 여러분의 깊은 이해와 적극적인 협조를 당부드린다”고 말했다.
