[장선희 기자 = 경기북부] 지난 6월 16일 의정부시 장암동은 환경개선 정화활동 구역인 행복홀씨 입양구역을 중심으로 13개 자생단체와 함께 우기철 대비 일제대청소를 실시했다고 밝혔다.

이번 청소는 11개 구역으로 나눠 자생단체별 소그룹으로 코로나19 확산 방지를 위해 철저한 방역지침을 준수하며 진행했고, 상습쓰레기 투기지역 청소, 잡초제거 및 다가오는 우기철 대비 빗물받이 청소를 중점적으로 실시했다고 말했다. 

이날 참석한 자생단체 회원은 "코로나19로 인해 현실적으로 관내 환경 정화활동이 그동안 미진했던 부분이 있었다. 백신 접종을 했고, 방역 수칙을 지키며 소그룹으로 이루어지는 이런 환경정비가 필요한 시점인 거 같다. 청소와 함께 코로나도 다 씻겨나갔으면 좋겠다."고 말했다.

박재범 장암동장은 “다가오는 우기철 상습 침수구역의 빗물받이를 정비하고 위생상 좋지 않은 쓰레기를 치우고 나니 한결 관내가 정비된 느낌이다. 적극적으로 참여해 주신 자생단체 회원분들게 감사를 드린다."고 밝혔다. 

앞으로도 장암동은 꾸준한 관내 환경정화 활동을 진행할 예정이라고 했다.
