지난 6일 어버이날을 앞두고 미담참숯불구이에서 작년에 이어 갈비탕 100인분을 기탁했고, 신곡1동 지역사회보장협의체에서는 카네이션 석고 방향제와 감사떡, 코로나19 예방 물품이 담긴 선물꾸러미 100세트를 마련했다고 말했다. 

협의체 위원과 신곡1동 새마을부녀회 및 새마을지도자협의회 회원들이 함께 직접 방문하여 물품을 전달하고 안부를 확인하는 등 감사의 마음을 전하는 따뜻한 시간을 가졌다고 했다. 

이와 더불어 4일에는 어린이날을 맞이하여 관내에 있는 지역아동센터 4개소에 햄버거·음료 등 간식과 코로나19 예방 물품을 전달하여 자라나는 꿈나무들을 응원했다고 말했다.

2019년부터 동 지역사회협의체 특화사업으로 나눔 행사를 추진한 신성희 위원장은 “어르신과 아이들 모두 따뜻한 이웃사랑을 느끼는 행복한 달 5월이 되기를 소망한다”라고 말했으며, 박성복 신곡권역 국장은 “5월 가정의 달, 어버이날과 어린이날을 맞이하여 지역사회가 한마음 한뜻으로 나눔에 참여해주신 분들께 감사의 말씀을 전한다”라고 밝혔다.
