[장선희 기자 = 경기북부] 의정부시 드림스타트는 의정부시 지역 봉사단체 한우리 가족 봉사단3기와 함께 취약계층 아동의 열악한 주거환경 개선을 위해 사랑의 집청소 봉사활동을 실시했다고 밝혔다. 

이날 봉사는 코로나19의 장기화로 가정 내 생활이 길어지는 가운데 질병 등의 이유로 가정 내 환경을 깨끗하게 유지하기 어려운 취약계층을 위해 시행되었고, 의정부 한우리 봉사단 3기 회원 10여 명과 드림스타트 관계자가 참석한 가운데 진행되었다고 했다. 

이날 봉사활동으로 집 청소 도움을 받게 된 가정의 가장은 “그동안 청소의 필요성을 절실히 느끼고 있었지만 엄두가 나지 않아 미루고만 있었는데 이렇게 많은분들이 도와주신 덕분에 집이 너무 깨끗해졌다. 너무 감사하다.”고 말했다. 

봉사활동에 참여한 한 봉사단원은 “사랑의 집 청소 봉사활동을 통해 깨끗해진 집에서 아동이 마음껏 뛰놀고 꿈을 키워나갔으면 좋겠다. 요즘 여러 가지 상황으로 힘든데 가정 내에서나마 웃으면서 행복감을 느끼셨으면 한다.”라고 밝혔다. 

안병용 의정부시장은 “아이들의 꿈과 희망을 위해 어려운 시간 내주신 봉사단원 여러분께 감사드리고, 앞으로도 민관이 지속적으로 협력해 소외되고 어려운 이웃을 위해 봉사하는 의정부가 되겠다.”라고 말했다.
