[서종협 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 삼척시(시장 박상수)는 원덕읍 사곡리 마을이 산림청에서 선정하는 ‘2022년 소각산불 없는 녹색마을’에 선정되어 9월 20일 마을회관에서 현판 전달식을 갖고 시상금 100만원을 전달했다고 밝혔다. 

산림청 주관의 ‘소각산불 없는 녹색마을’ 캠페인은 산불의 주요 원인인 논·밭두렁, 농업부산물, 기타 생활쓰레기 등 불법 소각행위를 하지 않는다는 내용으로 마을에서 서약서를 작성하고, 봄철 산불조심기간(2.1 ~ 5.15) 종료 후 소각산불 예방 노력도에 따라 우수마을을 선정하는 캠페인으로, 주민 모두가 캠페인에 참여함으로써 마을공동체 의식을 심어주고 산불 예방 효과도 크다.

녹색마을로 선정된 사곡리 주민들은 지속적인 마을방송 및 방문을 통해 계도 활동을 진행하는 등 자발적인 참여와 함께, 한마음으로 논·밭두렁 및 농산폐기물 등의 소각행위 예방을 위해 힘써 산불조심기간 동안 단 한 건의 소각 산불도 발생하지 않았다.

삼척시 관계자는 “소각산불 없는 녹색마을 선정은 주민들이 자발적으로 산불예방에 참여해 얻은 결실”이라며 “앞으로도 산불예방에 대한 시민들의 지속적인 관심과 참여를 당부드린다.”고 말했다.
