[김일웅 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 강원경찰청은 지난 1일 양양군 현남면에 위치한 제3기동대 청사에서 강원경찰청장이 참석한 가운데 창설식을 진행했다고 밝혔다.

제3기동대는 의무경찰 단계적 감축과 대체 경찰관 인력 증원 일환으로 제1기동대, 제2기동대에 이어 강원도 내 세 번째로 창설된 경찰관기동대이다.

기동대장을 포함 현장실무 경험이 우수한 경찰관 83명으로 구성된 제3기동대는 각종 집회시위 관리와 혼잡경비, 대테러 등 경비업무 외에도 재해·재난, 범죄예방 등 각종 민생치안 업무를 수행하며 강원도민의 치안서비스 향상을 도모할 예정이다.

3기동대는 지난 8월 16일 창설되어 일주일간 법률·인권교육, 집회시위 대응훈련 등 집중훈련을 마쳤으며, 향후 도민의 인권과 안전에 유의하며 활동할 수 있도록 법률의식·인권의식 등의 교육을 꾸준히 진행할 계획이다.

김도형 강원경찰청장은 창설식에서“양양에 둥지를 튼 제3기동대가 강원경찰의 젊은 에너지로써, 지역 특성과 주민의 의사를 충분히 반영한 경찰 활동으로 지역사회 안전확보에 큰 역할을 해줄 것”을 당부했다.
