공공비축미 매입가격은 통계청에서 10월 부터 12월까지 10일 간격으로 총 9차례에 걸쳐 조사한 산지 쌀값의 평균 가격을 기준으로 결정되며, 대금은 벼 수매 직후 포대당 중간정산금 3만원을 지급하고, 쌀값 확정 후 12월 31일까지 최종 정산할 계획이다.

강원도는 정부양곡 고품질화를 위해 시군별로 매입대상 벼 품종을 우수한 품종으로 최대 2품종으로 지정하고 일치 여부를 확인하는‘품종검정제'를 추진하며, 이를 위반한 농가는 5년간 공공비축미 매입에서 제외한다.
