[김현우 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 속초시가 설악동 치매안심마을 지정을 위한 다양한 사업을 추진한다고 밝혔다.

이번 사업은 속초시가 지난 7월 25일 보건복지부 주관 「2022 치매안심마을 우수사례 확산」을 위한 공모사업에 최종 선정돼 국비 120백만 원을 지원받아 추진하는 것으로, 다 함께 만들고 나누는 설악의 선물‘건강의 장’이라는 테마를 주제로 설악동 치매안심마을 지정을 위해 다양한 프로그램 진행과 치매 예방사업을 금년 말까지 진행할 계획이다.

치매 안심마을이란 지역사회 구성원들이 치매에 대해 올바르게 이해하고 치매환자와 가족들의 삶의 질을 높이고 돌봄 부담을 경감하기 위한 치매 친화적 환경이 조성된 지역을 의미한다. 

설악동 치매안심마을은 주변에 잘 정비된 산책 로드 및 하천변 데크로드, 종교시설의 야외 잔디밭 등 자연 인프라를 활용하여 예술·인지·힐링 등  다양한 프로그램과 치매가족들을 위한 스트레스 해소 프로그램을 중점적으로 제공할 것이다. 

속초시는 이와 같은 서비스 제공을 위하여 설악동 지역 어르신들을 대상으로 오는 9월 2일까지 치매 조기발견을 위한 선별검사 및 프로그램 참여에 대한 전수조사를 진행할 예정이며, 이번 조사를 통해 치매 안심벨 및 배회 방지용 문열림 감지기도 지원할 계획이다. 

속초시 관계자는“코로나 19로 주로 실내에서 생활하고 있는 어르신들과 치매환자 및 가족들을 실외로 유도하여 생활 반경을 넓히고 더 나아가 설악동 뿐만 아니라 각 동의 인구, 그리고 환자뿐 아니라 그들의 보호자 및 전 연령층까지 서비스 제공을 확대해 라이프 스타일을 개선하고 건강의 장을 만들 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠다.”라고 말했다.
