[김현우 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 11일 속초시와 속초경찰서는 지난 1월 체결한 아동학대 공동 대응 업무협약에 따라 다양한 예방사업을 협력 추진해 온 가운데 속초시학원연합회 연수회장을 찾아 아동학대 신고의무자 교육을 진행했다고 전했다.

아동복지법에 의거 학대 의심 상황을 쉽게 발견할 수 있는 직종의 종사자를 아동학대 신고의무자로 지정하고 있으며, 매년 관련 교육을 필수 이수하도록 하고 있다.

그동안 대부분 온라인으로 교육이 진행됐으나 교육 내용의 전달력이 떨어지고, 여전히 신고의무자에 의한 신고 비율이 현저히 낮은 상황에 대한 고민으로 직접 현장을 찾아 생동감 있는 교육을 진행하는 것이 도움이 될 것으로 판단했다. 

이날 교육은 속초시 아동학대전담공무원과 속초경찰서 아동학대전담경찰관이 함께 교육을 진행하며, 실제 사건 사례를 들어 이해도를 높이고 학대 대응 절차와 신고 의무 이행에 대한 당부도 전달했다. 

속초시 관계자는“위기 아동을 조기에 발견하고 안전하게 보호하기 위해서는 신고의무자의 관심이 절실하다.”며 “앞으로 신고의무자 현장 교육 확대에도 적극 상호 협력해 나가겠다.”라고 말했다.
