[장선희 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 오는 3월 중순부터 횡성군은 올해 약 23억원의 예산을 투입하여 군민의 생명과 재산을 보호하기 위해 해빙과 동시에 사방사업을 본격적으로 추진한다고 밝혔다. 

군은 지난 2021년 안전하고 자연 친화적인 사방시설을 적정 시기에 착수 및 완료하여 산림피해 최소화를 위해 노력하였고, 이에, 사방댐 4개소, 사방댐 준설(기존 사방댐 관리) 4개소, 사방댐 점검 62개소 등 사방사업을 완료하였다고 전했다.

군은 올해에도 인명 피해가 우려되는 민가, 산업시설 주변 등 위험등급을 고려하여 대상지 선정부터 사업 착수까지 체계적인 절차로 추진 중에 있으며, 사방댐 7개소, 산지사방 1ha, 사방댐 준설(기존 사방댐 관리) 2개소, 사방댐 점검 64개소 등을 목표로 하고 있고, 특히, 앞으로 다가올 집중호우 및 태풍 내습에 피해를 최소화하기 위해 사방댐 설치 및 사방시설 점검 등 주요 사업을 오는 6월 말까지 완료하여 군민의 생명과 재산을 보호한다는 계획이라고 밝혔다.
