[김현우 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 태백시는 지역인재를 양성하고 교육복지를 실현하기 위해 경제적 어려움을 겪고 있는 저소득층 대학생에게 학자금을 지원한다고 밝혔다.

2022년도 1학기 대학생 학자금은 학기당 신입생 400만 원, 재학생 300만 원이며 입학금, 수업료, 기성회비를 지원한다고 전했다.

학자금은 한 학기 등록금 총액범위 내 타 학자금과 중복수령이 가능하며, 단, 학기 중 학적변동(휴학, 자퇴, 퇴학 등)으로 학업을 중단하는 경우에는  지원받은 금액을 반납해야 한다고 했다. 

신청자격은 학생 본인 또는 부모가 신청일 기준 6개월 이전에 태백시 관내에 주민등록되어 있으며, 관할 동 행정복지센터에서 실제 거주여부가 확인돼야 하고, 재학생은 직전학기 12학점 이상(졸업학기 제외) 이수자로서 백분위 점수가 70/100점 이상 성적을 취득해야 한다고 했다.

신청기간은 지난 3월 21일부터 시작해 오는 4월 22일까지이며, 신청방법은 신청서와 구비서류를 갖춰 주소지 관할 동 행정복지센터로 방문 신청하면 된다고 전했다. 

태백시 관계자는 “이번 사업은 폐광지역 저소득층에게 실질적 도움이 되는 장학사업인 만큼 대상자 모두가 학자금 지원을 받을 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.
