[장선희 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 정선군은 지역별·분야별 농업·농촌을 이끌어갈 전문농업인 육성으로 농업환경 변화 대응에 주력하고 있다고 밝혔다.

군은 변화하는 농업환경에 대응하고 행복하고 살기 좋은 농업농촌을 만들기 위한 인재발굴과 경쟁력을 갖춘 전문농업인 육성을 위해 5개 농업분야에 대한 전문교육을 추진하며, 군은 올한해동안 농업대학 사과심화학과를 비롯해 새해농업인 실용기술교육, 품목별 전문교육, 작지만 강한농업 강소농 육성, 귀농·귀촌인 영농정착 기술교육 등 700여 명의 농업인들을 대상으로 교육을 진행할 계획이라고 전했다.

군에서는 지난 2009년부터 진행하고 있는 아리아리정선 농업대학 사과심화학과에 40여 명을 모집해 사과 수형 및 정지전정, 사과 결실관리, 병충해 진단 및 방제기술, 사과 품질관리, 사과 가공, 농업현장 체험 교육, 선도 농업인 사례발료 등 사과 재배 전반에 걸친 이론과 실무기술 습득으로 고품질 사과를 효과적으로 생산할 수 있는 전문 농업인 양성을 위한 교육을 진행하며, 또한 군은 새해 영농계획 수립과 농가 소득증대를 위해 300여 명의 농업인들을 대상으로 비대면(온라인) 실용교육을 실시한다고 했다.

아울러 군은 관내 농업인 250여 명을 대상으로 고추, 사과기초, 양봉, 자두, 산림기초 등 품목별 전문교육을 실시하는 것은 물론 경영규모는 작지만 경쟁력 있는 농업인을 육성하기 위해 농업인 20명을 선정해 작지만 강한농업 강소농 육성 교육을 진행할 계획이고, 또한 귀농·귀촌인 40명을 대상으로 체계적이고 실질적인 영농기술 교육과 농업정보를 제공하고 영농현장 실습 교육을 통해 행복하고 살기 좋은 농업농촌에 안정적으로 정착할 수 있는 지원교육을 실시한다고 했다.

군에서는 전문농업인 육성으로 농업경영체의 역량강화와 품목별 전문경영능력 향상으로 기술경쟁력 제고와 농가소득 증대는 물론 새로운 기술정보의 신속한 보급확산 및 기술농업의 조기정착, 지역별 특화품목 육성과 품목별 농업인 조직의 활성화 등에 기여할 것으로 기대하고 있다고 전했다.
