[안종욱 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 지난 19일과 20일, 가평군새마을회는 새마을회관에서 남·여 새마을지도자 22명이 참석하여 경기도농수산진흥원 시민단체 취약계층 먹거리 보장 공모사업을 전개하였다고 밝혔다.

이번 사업은 경기도농수산진흥원에서 주관하는 사업으로 지역먹거리 공동체 형성을 지원하고자 시민단체가 중심이 되어 홀몸노인 및 소외이웃 등 취약계층에 유기농 농산물을 꾸러미 형태로 제공하는 사업으로 관내 농가에서 재배·생산되는 유기농 쌀과 잡곡을 구입하여 관내 취약계층 125세대에 제공하였다고 했다.

가평군새마을회는 행사 전 행사장 전체를 소독하였고, 손소독제 비치·봉사자 열 체크 및 마스크 착용 의무화등 코로나19 확산 방지를 위해 방역수칙을 철저하게 준수하였다고 했다.

염철교 새마을회장은 “코로나19로 고립되어있는 생계가 막막한 이웃들에 위로와 함께 따듯한 이웃의 정을 함께 나누며 지속적으로 다양한 프로그램을 추진하여 정감이 넘치는 사회 만들기에 앞장설 것이다.” 라고 말하며 행사에 참여한 새마을지도자들을 격려했다.
