코로나19 확산세와 시민 안전을 고려해 비대면 온라인으로 개최하는 이번 양주 다문화 축제는 다양한 문화에 대한 이해와 존중을 기반으로 포용적 문화 형성의 의미와 가치를 담기 위해 지역 내 다문화 이주민이 다수 거주하는 광적면 가래비 시장 일원 특설무대에서 영상 촬영을 진행했고, 인기 예능프로그램 ‘대한외국인’ 출연으로 이름을 알린 러시아 출신 방송인 코노노바 에바가 축제 개막식 사회와 일부 프로그램 진행을 맡아 축제의 서막을 연다고 전했다.
