[장선희 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 동두천시는 농촌지역의 불법소각 행위를 방지하고 미세먼지 발생을 억제하기 위하여 '가을철 농업부산물 파쇄사업'을 추진한다고 밝혔다. 

그동안 농업활동을 통해 발생하는 깻대, 고춧대, 콩대 등의 농업부산물은 처리방법의 한계로 주로 노천소각에 의존해 왔으며, 이 때문에 산불발생의 위험은 물론 미세먼지 발생이 우려되어 왔고, 농업부산물 파쇄를 원하는 농가는 동두천시청 농업축산위생과로 신청기간은 오는 10월 15일~11월 30일 내에 전화 등을 통해 간편하게 신청할 수 있다고 했다. 

동두천시에서는 봄철 영농기 이전인 지난 3월부터 4월까지 파쇄사업을 추진하여 138농가의 접수를 받아 180톤을 파쇄하였으며 농업인들로부터 좋은 호응을 얻었다고 했다.

시 관계자는 “이번 사업을 통해 불법소각 예방과 농촌생활환경 개선 및 시민 건강증진에 기여할 것으로 생각한다”며 농업인들의 적극 동참을 당부했다.
