[김일웅 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 지난 9월 15일 캠코는 대한적십자사 서울사무소(서울 양천구 소재)에서 문성유 캠코 사장, 신희영 대한적십자사 회장 등이 참석한 가운데 ｢다문화 가족을 위한 아름다운 선물｣ 기부금 1억원을 전달했다고 밝혔다.

｢다문화 가족을 위한 아름다운 선물｣ 지원은 캠코가 저소득 다문화 가족의 추석 명절나기를 돕고, 모국 부모님께 감사 선물을 보낼 수 있도록 지원하는 사회공헌 활동이라고 했다.

캠코는 지난 8월 16일부터 8월 27까지 홈페이지 등을 통해 지원을 희망하는 다문화 가족을 모집했으며, 총 1,526가족이 신청하는 등 높은 관심 속에서 심사를 통해 최종 160가족을 선정했다고 전했다. 

전달된 기부금은 다문화 가족들이 명절음식을 마련하고 생필품 구매하는데 사용할 온누리 상품권과 코로나19 등으로 만나기 어려운 모국 부모님께 보낼 명절선물을 구입하는 데 사용될 예정이라고 했다.

아름다운 선물 지원 대상으로 선정된 결혼이민자 A씨(여·28세)는 “남편이 2개월 전 교통사고로 일하기 힘든 상황이라 명절을 앞두고 걱정이 컸었는데, 이번 선물을 받게 되서 마음이 한결 가벼워 졌다”며, “필리핀에 계신 부모님께 선물도 보낼 수 있어 기쁘고 감사하게 생각한다”고 소감을 전했다.

문성유 캠코 사장은 “올 추석에도 다문화 가족들에게 따뜻한 온기가 전해지기를 바라는 마음으로 ‘아름다운 선물’을 마련했다”며, “앞으로도 캠코는 다양한 문화가 공존하는 가운데 사회발전을 이루는 데 보탬이 되도록 꾸준한 노력을 기울이겠다”고 말했다.

한편, 캠코는 이주배경가정 아동․청소년들의 기초학습능력 증진과 가족관계 향상 및 사회․정서적 정착을 돕기 위한 지원프로그램을 시행하고 있으며, 최근에는 아프가니스탄 특별기여자와 충북 진천군 주민을 위해 마스크 5만장을 지원하는 등 사회통합과 사회적 가치 실천을 위한 활동을 꾸준히 펼치고 있다고 밝혔다.
