[장선희 기자 = 경기북부] 지난 5일과 12일 이틀간 동두천시는 동두천시에 거주하고 있는 결혼이민자 10여 명을 대상으로, ‘자녀 언어발달을 위한 부모의 발음교육’을 진행했다고 밝혔다.

언어발달 지원 사업은 동두천시건강가정·다문화가족지원센터를 통해 운영되며, 다문화가족 자녀의 언어발달 상태를 평가하고, 의사소통에 어려움을 가진 아동에게 적절한 언어교육과 더불어, 부모에게 상담 및 교육 방법을 제공함으로써, 일상생활에서도 아동의 언어발달을 도모하는 프로그램이라고 말했다.

이번 부모교육은 코로나19 감염 예방을 위해 마스크 착용 및 발열체크 등 방역수칙에 따라 진행했으며, 자녀의 발음 문제에 고민이 있거나, 언어발달에 관심이 많은 결혼이민자를 대상으로, 한국어 자음 발음방법, 자녀 발음문제의 원인 및 종류 등에 대해 교육을 실시했고, 또한, 발음문제 외에 자녀 양육의 어려운 점과 양육방법 등에 대해 다른 참여자들과 공유하는 시간도 가졌다고 했다. 

이정숙 센터장은 “이번 부모교육을 통해 결혼이민자들이 한국어 자음 발음방법에 대해 이해하고, 자녀에게 보다 정확한 발음을 들려주어, 자녀의 조음능력이 향상되기를 기대하며, 발음교육 외에 자녀의 언어발달 능력을 향상시킬 수 있는 프로그램을 계획하여, 다양한 서비스를 지원할 수 있도록 노력하겠다”고 밝혔다.
