이번 기획전시회에서 특별히 전시하는 자유수호평화박물관 소장 한국전쟁 피난민 태극기는 한국전쟁 당시인 1951년 북녘으로부터 탈출하던 피난민이 소장한 태극기로써, 당시 피난민을 구출하던 미국 해군 장교에 전해졌고, 그 이후 동두천시에 기증됐다고 했다.
