[김현우 기자 = 경기북부] 지난 4월 26일부터 5월 4일까지 양주시 회천2동 동장 홍미영은 관내 36개소를 대상으로 한 꽃 심기 행사 ‘봄맞이 화,화,하 웃음 꽃마을 조성 프로젝트’를 실시했다고 밝혔다.  

이번 꽃 심기 행사는 주민, 사회단체, 관계 공무원 등 약 100여명이 참여한 가운데 코로나19 확산 방지를 위해 철저한 개인 방역을 실시하고 사업 구간별 인원을 나눠 진행했으며 쓰레기 불법 투기 지역, 다중이 이용하는 공공시설 주변, 유휴지 및 마을 안길 등 관내 36개소에 피튜니아, 메리골드, 배고니아 26,000여 본의 꽃을 식재했다고 전했다.

이번 프로젝트는 ‘깨진 유리창의 법칙’에 착안해 무단 쓰레기로 골칫거리가 되고 있는 유휴공간에 소규모 형식으로 진행하며 보여주기식 꽃 심기라는 기존의 부정적 이미지를 탈피하고 자유롭게 마을별로 다양한 장소에 힐링 공간을 제공하기 위해 기획됐다고 했다.  

‘봄맞이 花·華·㰤(꽃 화, 빛날 화, 웃을 하) 웃음 꽃마을 프로젝트’는 ‘꽃으로 빛나고 환한 웃음이 가득한 마을 만들기’라는 구호 아래 코로나19 장기화로 어두워진 지역 분위기를 쇄신하고, 친환경적인 힐링 쉼터를 조성함과 동시에 쓰레기 불법 투기 상습지역 또는 위생 취약지역에 꽃을 식재해 마을 주민들이 웃을 수 있는 환경조성에 다 함께 노력하고자 하는 의미를 담은 프로젝트라고 했다.
