[김준호 기자 = 평창군] 심재국 평창군수는 현지시간, 24일 오후 스위스 로잔에서 토마스 바흐 IOC위원장을 만나, “세대를 아우르는 2018 평창올림픽 유산사업 지속”에 대해 논의했다.

2018 평창동계올림픽 개최 당시 군수를 역임했던 심재국 평창군수는 토마스 바흐 IOC 위원장을 다시 만난 자리에서 감회를 밝히고, “올림픽 유산 프로그램 기획 의미에 대한 설명과 IOC의 올림픽 정신을 이어받아 개최지로서의 자부심을 갖고 유산 사업을 추진하겠다.”는 각오를 표명했다.

평창군은 2018년 동계올림픽 이후 올림픽기념관 건립 홍보와 2024 강원 동계청소년올림픽 대회 성공적 개최를 다짐하며 전 세계인들을 다시 한번 평창으로 초대하겠다는 계획이다.

평창군 참가단은 나흘간의 회담을 마치고 1928년과 1948년 최초로 동계올림픽을 두 번 개최한 생모리츠로 이동해, 세계 유일의 자연산 봅슬레이 트렉과 스위스의 스키 슬로프 시설을 관람하고 동계스포츠 역사와 관광 전략을 탐색한다.
