[김현우 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 속초시가 관내 도로조명 개선을 위하여 설악금강대교로(이마트~설악대교입구) 가로등 미설치 구간에 가로등을 설치한다고 밝혔다.

이번 사업은 야간 보행자 및 교통안전 강화를 위해 추진되는 사업으로 기존등보다 광효율이 우수한 친환경 LED조명 설치로 도시 야간경관개선과 에너지 효율 향상으로 차량 주행 안전성 및 시민의 야간 보행권이 한층 강화되며, 유지관리비 절감에도 도움이 될 전망이다. 

속초시는 해당 구간(설악금강대교로)에 가로등 20개를 오는 10월말까지 설치완료한다는 계획이다. 

최은숙 건축과장은 “지속적인 가로등 개선사업을 통해 에너지 효율 향상과 조도개선으로 시민들에게 보다 안전하고 밝은 밤거리 환경이 조성될 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠다.”라고 말했다.
