[김현우 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 양주시는 오는 9월 3일 양주별산대놀이마당 대공연장에서 우리 고유의 명절 한가위를 맞아 시민과 함께하는 추석맞이 ‘제59회 양주별산대놀이 정기공연’을 개최한다고 밝혔다.

양주별산대놀이는 예부터 명절로 삼아온 4월 초파일, 5월 단오, 8월 추석이 되면 탈놀이의 풍자와 해학을 통해 서민들의 고단한 삶의 희망이 되고 즐거움이 됐다.

이번 공연은 오후 2시부터 시작을 알리는 길놀이로 출발, 관객과 연희자의 무사함을 기원하는 서막고사를 지낸 후 본격적인 공연이 펼쳐지며 국가무형문화재 제43호인 수영야류의 초청공연도 진행한다.

이날 행사에는 양주별산대놀이 외에 유네스코 인류무형문화유산인 임실필봉농악의 초청공연과 유양초등학교 별산대반 학생들의 축하공연, 탈과 의상 체험, 탈 만들기, 민속놀이 등 다양한 체험활동도 운영한다.

특히 별산대 놀이마당 주변에는 양주관아지, 양주향교, 어사대비, 송덕비군 등 많은 문화유산이 있어 공연장에 방문하는 시민들은 공연도 관람하고 소중한 문화유산들도 살펴볼 수 있는 좋은 기회를 가질 수 있다.

양주시 관계자는 “장기화된 코로나19로 힘들고 지친 일상을 흥겨운 탈놀이 공연을 통해 탈탈 털어버리고 풍성한 한가위를 맞이하길 바란다”고 말했다.
