[김현우 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 속초시는 2023년도 정부 예산 총력 대응을 위해 21일 시청 대회의실에서 기획재정부 안순헌 서기관을 강사로 초빙하여 전 직원 대상으로 ｢국비 확보 전략 설명회｣를 개최했다고 밝혔다.

이번 설명회에는 ｢국비 확보 필요성과 10대 전략｣을 주제로 국가 정책 방향에 부합하는 사업 발굴과 대규모 국책사업 예산에 대한 대응체계를 강화하기 위해 마련됐으며, 핵심 사업에 대해서는 사업별 맞춤형 상담을 진행했다.

속초시는 2022년 국비 예산 1,288억 원을 확보하여 사업을 추진 중이며, 2023년도 주요 사업으로 (옛) 대포 정수장 복합문화 거점공간 조성사업, 대포동 1 지역(화채마을) 도시재생 뉴딜사업, 대포항 남방파제 물양장 확충사업 등 국비 확보에 총력을 다하고 있다.

최근 이병선 속초시장은 직접 국토교통부 방문, 제2차관과의 면담을 통해 속초 미래 발전을 위한 현안사업과 정부 예산 확보 방안 등을 논의했다.

속초시 관계자는“이번 설명회를 통해 국비 확보를 위한 전략적인 대응체계를 마련할 수 있었고, 향후 신규 및 공모사업의 적극적인 발굴과 중앙부처와의 지속적인 업무 협의를 통해 국비 확보에 총력을 다하겠다.”라고 말했다.
