[김현우 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 태백시는 PC 구입에 어려움을 겪는 정보 소외계층을 대상으로 중고PC 무료 지원사업을 추진한다고 밝혔다.

이번에 보급되는 중고 PC는 모두 40대로 사용중 내구년한이 지나 교체된 PC를 정비‧업그레이드하여 정보 소외계층에 무상 제공될 예정이다.

지원대상은 장애인, 기초생활수급권자, 보호아동대상, 결혼이민자, 국가유공자 중 상이등급 판정자 등, 단체로는 사회복지법인 및 사회복지시설, 사회적기업, 보훈관련 단체 등이다. 

단, 최근 2년 이내에 중고 PC를 보급받은 개인·단체의 경우 보급이 제외된다.

신청기간은 오는 20일부터 다음달 12일까지이며, 신청방법은 신청서 및 구비서류를 지참해 소통감사담당관실 전산팀 또는 각 동 행정복지센터로 방문접수 하면 된다.

태백시는 신청자격과 신청사유, 중복신청 여부 등을 확인한 후 보급대상자를 선정 지원 대상을 확정하고 오는 9월부터 보급에 들어간다.

태백시 관계자는 “시민 모두에게 더 나은 정보 접근 기회와 정보 이용 환경 제공을 위해 노력하겠다”고 말했다.

한편, 이번에 보급되는 중고 PC는 CPU(인텔 i5-4세대) RAM(4GB), HDD(250GB) 이상 사양을 가진 데스크톱 컴퓨터와 LCD 19인치 이상 모니터로 구성되어 있다.
