[남상훈 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 지난 21일 태백시 노인복지관은 디지털 기기 사용에 대한 어려움을 호소하는 지역 어르신의 디지털 격차 해소를 위하여 주식회사 블랙스톤에서 교육용 키오스크를 기증했다고 밝혔다.

주식회사 블랙스톤이 기증한 교육용 키오스크 ‘아키’는 어르신들의 디지털 문맹 해소와 쉽고 편리하게 키오스크를 사용할 수 있도록 하기 위한 교육용 제품으로, 삼성전자(주)에서 단 3대를 제작하여 이번 태백시 노인복지관에 1대를 기증했고 다양한 분야에서 사용되는 키오스크는 고령 소비자들이 어려워하는 6가지 업종(병원, 마트, 관공서 등)으로 구성되어 있으며, 일상에서 자주 만나고 필요로 하는 업종의 키오스크 화면을 쉽게 학습할 수 있도록 구성되었다고 전했다.

태백시 노인복지관 관계자는 “복지관을 이용하시는 어르신을 대상으로 키오스크 사용법을 교육하여 디지털 기기에 대한 두려움을 없애고 편리하게 이용할 수 있도록 할 계획이다”고 말했다.

장정맥 생체인식 제조업을 진행하는 주식회사 블랙스톤 박현철 대표는 “디지털 기기 앞에서 어려움을 겪는 어르신을 볼 때마다 안타까운 마음이었다. 삼성전자(주)에서 제작한 키오스크를 지역 어르신을 위해 기증할 수 있어 기쁘게 생각하며, 어르신의 편리한 일상에 조금이나마 도움이 되길 바란다”고 말했다.
