[남상훈 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 올해 4월부터 속초시가 가정위탁아동 양육보조금을 1인당 월 30만 원으로 증액 지급한다고 밝혔다.

가정위탁 아동 보호제도는 친부모의 사망 및 부재로 가정에서 아동을 양육할 수 없는 경우 조부나 친인척, 일반가정에서 아동을 보호·양육하는 제도이며, 지역 내 가정위탁아동은 32명으로 그동안 연령과 상관없이 20만 원을 지급했으나 지원 금액의 현실화를 위해 지급액을 월 30만 원으로 상향함에 따라 위탁부모의 양육비 부담 경감에 기여할 것으로 예상되고 속초시는 지난해 아동보호 전담요원을 추가 채용하여 가정위탁아동의 양육상황 점검 등 맞춤형 서비스를 제공하고 있다고 전했다. 

속초시 관계자는 “앞으로 보호가 필요한 아동들이 안정적인 자립을 할 수 있도록 더욱 노력하겠다.”라고 말했다.
