[장선희 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 지난 20일, 횡성읍에 거주 중인 김동용 어르신이 육군본부로부터 은성화랑무공훈장을 받았다고 전했다.

국방부에서는 호국 영웅과 그 가족의 헌신을 잊지 않고 보답하는 취지 아래 '6·25 전쟁 무공훈장 주인공 찾기' 사업을 펼치고 있다고 했다. 

김동용 어르신은 “나라를 지키는 것은 당연한 의무이다. 앞으로도 대한민국을 지켜낸 숨은 영웅들을 많이 찾아주길 바란다.”고 소감을 밝혔다.
