[장선희 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 2월 23일, 정선군이 농산물 가격하락에 대비 농업인들의 경영안정을 도모하고자 추진하고 있는 농산물 최저가격 보장제 지원 대상 작목을 올해 7개에서 9개 작목으로 확대했다고 밝혔다.

군은 코로나19 확산 예방을 위해 김병렬 부군수를 비롯한 심의위원 14명을 대상으로 '농산물 최저가격 지원 운영위원회'를 비대면 서면심의를 진행했다고 전했다.

이날 심의에서는 지난해까지 건고추 등 7개 작목에서 올해 홍고추와 꽈리고추를 추가하는 등 총 9개 작목 '건고추, 청양고추, 오이고추, 홍고추, 꽈리고추, 찰피수수, 생곤드레, 감자, 백태'에 대해 농산물 최저가격 지원을 확대 지원하기로 의결했고, 이들 작목은 상대적으로 재배면적이 넓거나 가격 변동의 폭이 큰 작목으로 군은 지난해 코로나19 여파로 고추 가격이 하락하여 피해를 입은 673농가에 3억 6,018만 원의 최저가격 보상금 차액을 지급하는 등 현재까지 모두 8억 1,633만 원을 보상금으로 지급하였다고 했다.

군은 올해 선정한 9개 작목에 대해서는 농협, 산림조합을 통해 계통 출하한 시장가격이 최저가격 아래로 10일 이상 하락하면 운영위원회 심의를 거쳐 기준가격의 최저 70%∼최대 100% 이내에서 차액을 지원하게 되며 농가당 최대 500만 원까지 지원받을 수 있다고 전했다.
