기간 중 산림병해충예찰방제단, 산불진화대 등 예찰 가용인력(500여명)을 최대한 동원하여 소나무재선충병 선단지역 및 외곽지역을 중심으로 지상예찰을 강화하는 한편, 소나무재선충병 피해지역 및 선단지역에 대해서는 피해고사목 제거(24천본) 및 예방나무주사(155ha) 등 총력 대응할 계획이라고 했다.

또한, 방제기간 중에는 소나무재선충병의 방제품질 향상과 인위적 확산으로 인한 피해를 최소화하기 위하여, 경기‧강원도와 합동으로 소나무재선충병 방제 사업장에 대한 일제점검과 관내 조경업체, 화목농가 등 소나무류취급업체(6,282개)를 대상으로 소나무류 불법 이동단속을 병행할 방침이라고 했다.
