[김일중 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 지난 12월 20일 양주시시설관리공단이 고액의 치료비로 인한 경제적 사정으로 도움의 손길이 필요한 소아암 어린이들을 위해 헌혈증서 250매를 한국소아암재단에 기증했다고 밝혔다.

코로나19 장기화로 인한 혈액수급이 장기화되고, 국가적인 혈액난으로 어려움을 겪고 있는 가운데 공단은 금년 5회에 걸친 헌혈 캠페인을 진행하여 임직원 및 양주 시민들의 자발적인 헌혈 동참을 통하여 모은 헌혈증서 250매를 기증하여 그 의미를 더했다고 했다.

이재호 이사장은 “헌혈증서 기증을 통하여 연말연시 소아암 어린이들과 그 가족들에게 따뜻한 마음이 전달되기를 바란다.”며 “앞으로도 공단은 사회문제에 관심을 갖고 어려운 이웃에게 희망의 빛을 비춰줄수 있도록 최선을 다하겠다.”고 전했다.

한편 이번에 기증된 헌혈증서는 백혈병‧소아암 환아 및 그 가족들의 혈액 수혈 비용 감면을 위해 쓰일 예정이라고 밝혔다.
