이번 노인의 날 행사는 경로효친사상을 확산하고 전통문화를 계승·발전시켜 온 어르신들의 노고를 격려하기 위해 마련하였으며, 코로나19 확산 방지를 위해 시상식으로 축소하여 개최하게 되었고, 기념식에서는 국민의례, 노인 강령낭독, 노인복지 발전에 기여한 유공자 표창, 기념사, 축사 등의 순서로 진행됐으며, 유공자 표창에는 시장 표창에 유재희 어르신 등 8명을 비롯하여 총 19명이 수상의 영예를 안았다고 했다. 

이날 김성보 지회장은 기념사에서 “어르신들과 건강한 모습으로 제25회 노인의 날 표창 수여식을 개최하게 되어 매우 기쁘게 생각하며 지회장으로서 낮은 자세로 섬김과 봉사를 실천하여 어르신들이 건강한 노후생활을 할 수 있도록 최선을 다해 나가겠다”고 말했다.
