[장선희 기자 = 경기북부] 지난 25일 포천시는 진군회관에서 ‘6군단 군관사 협의이전사업’ 착공식을 개최했다고 밝혔다. 

이날 착공식은 박윤국 포천시장을 비롯해 박양동 6군단장, 국방시설본부 임태규 사업관리부장, 지역 주민 등이 참여해 경과보고, 축사, 축포식 순으로 진행됐다고 말했다.

6군단 군관사 협의이전사업은 지난 2019년 포천시와 국방시설본부 간 합의각서 체결로 추진한 기부대양여사업으로, 태봉공원 내 군 관사 2동을 철거해 신읍동 진군회관 부지로 이전하는 사업이며, 군 관사 규모는 연면적 3,118㎡, 지상4층, 84세대로 총 사업비는 약 81억 원이고, 연내 준공하는 것을 목표로 추진 중에 있다고 했다.

박윤국 포천시장은 “군 관사 협의이전을 적극 협조해 준 6군단과 국방시설본부 관계자 분들께 감사하다.”며 “이번 사업은 군과 지자체가 서로 협력하고 상생하는 좋은 사례가 될 것이다.”라고 말했다.

시는 태봉공원 내 기존 군 관사부지에 복합커뮤니티센터와 수영장, 잔디광장 등을 조성하여 보다 쾌적한 주거환경을 제공할 계획이라고 전했다.
