[김일중 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 지난 12월 3일 의정부시는 제23회 경기도민속예술제에 출품한 녹양동 버들개농요 공연이 개최됐다고 밝혔다.

경기도 민속예술의 발굴·보존·전승 및 전통문화의 계승을 위해 개최된 이번 제23회 경기도민속예술제는 코로나19의 영향으로 기존 경연대회 형식에서 경기도 내 31개 지역민속예술 축제 형식으로 개최됐고, 시청 다목적이용시설에서 김대진 경기도문화원연합회 회장과 유성현 의정부문화원 회장 등 공연팀을 포함해 50여 명의 최소 인원만 참석했다고 전했다.

녹양동 버들개 농요는 주로 농사철 모내기와 7, 8월 김매기에 부르던 농요로 버들개민속보존회를 통해 전승되고 있다고 했다.

윤성현 의정부문화원장은 “의정부는 산과 들이 펼쳐져 있어서 다양한 농요가 전해져 내려오는데, 특히 녹양동 버들개농요는 의정부시를 대표하는 농요라며, 이번 경연으로 널리 계승되는 계기가 되길 바란다”고 밝혔다.

안병용 의정부시장은 “오늘 경연을 위해 수고해주신 버들개민속보존회와 관계자 여러분께 깊은 감사를 드린다”며 “의정부시 전통문화 발전을 위해 최선을 다할 것”이라고 전했다.

한국민속예술제 경기도 대표팀 선정을 위해 심사위원이 의정부시에 직접 방문해 현장 심사했고, 코로나19 예방을 위해 명부 작성 등 방역 수칙을 철저히 준수해서 진행했다고 밝혔다.
