[김일웅 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 8월 9일 경기도의회 교육기획위원회 위원장 정윤경 의원은 지난 3월 대표발의하여 제정한 「경기도교육청 4차 산업혁명 교육 진흥 조례」 와 관련하여 경기도교육청 교육정보담당관으로부터 추진현황을 보고받았다고 밝혔다.

도교육청 해당부서에서는 “조례 제정 이후 경기도교육청에 4차산업혁명교육진흥위원회를 새롭게 구성하여 운영함으로써 코로나19로 준비없이 시작한 원격교육이 보다 체계적으로 운영될 수 있는 기틀을 잡게 되었다”고 보고하며 조례에 근거하여 2021년 5월 도교육청 기조실장을 위원장으로 11명으로 구성된 4차산업혁명교육진흥위원회를 구성하여 6월 제1차 회의를 개최하여 경기도교육청 4차 산업혁명 교육 기본계획 수립과 관련한 논의를 진행하였으며 추후 하반기 제2차 회의를 개최할 예정이라고 밝혔다. 

또한, 2022년부터 2024년까지 4차 산업혁명 기본계획 수립을 위해 6월 11일 도교육청 융합교육정책과, 학교교육과정과, 교육정보담당관 등 14개 부서 28명 담당자들이 모여 미래사회 원격교육 관련 정책들이 통합적으로 진행될 수 있도록 협의하는 정책간담회 개최 내용도 보고했다고 했다.

정윤경 위원장은 “조례가 조례로만 머물지 않고, 실제 현장에서 필요한 정책을 이끌어내는 살아 움직이는 역할을 할 수 있도록 집행부가 노력할 필요가 있다”고 당부하면서 “KT와 협약을 통한 기초학력 멘토링과 같은 프로그램은 모든 학생들에게 제공되어야 할 교육서비스로, 경기도교육청 차원에서 이런 플랫폼이 구성되어 운영되면 사교육 의존도도 낮아질 수 있지 않겠느냐”면서 도교육청 차원의 대책 마련을 촉구했다. 

또한, 도교육청 관계자는 “2020년은 인프라 구축없이 원격수업을 진행하느라 교사, 학생, 학부모 모두 고생이 많았지만, 다행이 2021년 모든 학교 교실에 무선 와이파이가 통용되는 시스템을 구축하였고, 내년에는 이제 학교 기기 보유율을 5%에서 30%로 올리게 되면 필요한 수업에 기기 제공이 가능하여 준비된 양질의 원격수업이 기대된다”고 보고했다.

이에, 정윤경 의원은 “초등학교 특정학년에 시행하는 생존수영 교육과 같이 경기도교육청 중·고 특정학년 학생들에게 모두 기기를 지원하는 방식이나 패드대여 시스템 등을 도입하여 학생들의 실질적인 지원이 가시화될 필요성이 절실한 시점”이라고 강조하면서 “이에 필요한 미래형 물적 인적 교육환경 구성을 위한 정책 예산, SW·AI 교육 지원 센터 운영비 편성 등 모든 예산 지원은 교육기획위원회 의원님들과 협의하여 최선을 다해 지원하겠으니 현장의 긴요한 필요를 채우는 정책을 먼저 시행해 줄 것”을 요청했다.
