[안종욱 기자 = 경기북부] 지난 25일 가평군 자원봉사센터는 ‘2050 탄소중립 바로 지금 나부터!’ 라는 주제로 탄소중립 실천 선포식을 1939 음악역에서 진행했다고 밝혔다.

발열 체크 및 손 소독, 마스크 쓰기 등 코로나 상황에 맞추어 진행된 탄소중립 실천 선포식에는 김성기 가평군수를 비롯하여 배영식 군의장 이하 군의원과 김경식 청소년 문화의집 관장을 비롯한 각 기관장, 서희숙 여성단체협의회장 포함 자원봉사 단체장 및 회원 150여명이 참석하여 탄소중립 실천선포식 행사를 빛내주었다고 했다. 

김금순 센터장의 인사말로 시작된 이번 선포식에는 환경의 중요성이 대두되고 있는 지금 지구의 탄소 제로화를 주제로 환경부에서 선정한 영상시청과 탄소중립을 실천하는 실천선언문낭독과 더불어 나부터 지키자는 탄소중립 약속을 새기는 탄소중립 실천나무 메시지 제작을 진행하였다고 했다.

가평군자원봉사센터 김금순 센터장은 “기후변화의 심각성에 대한 인식이 확대되는 시점에 자원봉사자와 함께 탄소중립 실천을 위한 계기를 마련하고자 했다” 라며 “더이상 먼 미래가 아닌 가까이 다가온 환경문제를 자원봉사와, 나아가 가평군민과 함께 고민하고 해결방안을 모색하고 탄소중립을 실천하겠다”고 말했다.

2050 탄소중립 이란 개인.회사.단체 등에서 배출한 이산화탄소 등 온실가스의 배출량을 제로로 만들겠다는 목표로 정부가 2020년 12월7일 발표한 방안이라고 전했다.
