[김현우 기자 = 경기북부] 지난 21일 포천라이온스클럽과 포천상록수라이온스클럽은 7지역2지대와 협력해 영북면행정복지센터에 120만 원 상당의 물품을 전달했다고 밝혔다.

이날 전달된 물품은 영북면 내 복지취약계층과 ‘경기 먹거리 그냥드림 코너’에 전달할 예정이라고 전했다.

김원우 포천라이온스클럽 회장은 “코로나19로 어려운 분들을 돕기 위해 이번 후원을 진행했다. 앞으로도 우리지역을 위해 꾸준히 봉사하겠다.”고 전했다. 또한, 이향순 포천상록수 라이온스클럽 회장은 “지역사회에 도움을 줄 수 있어 뿌듯하다.”고 소감을 말했다.

윤숭재 영북면장은 “포천라이온스클럽과 포천상록수 라이온스클럽에서 영북지역의 취약계층가구와 생계위기가구를 위해 따뜻한 마음을 전달해주어 감사드린다. 이러한 후원들이 모인다면 더욱 촘촘한 사회안전망이 구축될 것이다.”라며 감사의 마음을 표했다.   

한편, 포천라이온스클럽와 포천상록수라이온스클럽은 국제라이온스협회 제354-H(경기북부) 지구에 속해 있으며 ‘우리는 봉사한다!(We Serve!)’라는 모토 아래 평소 어려운 이웃과 소외계층을 위해 꾸준히 나눔을 실천하고 있다고 했다.
