의정부시는 식품안전과 위생점검 담당 공무원의 직무교육을 통해 식품위생감시원의 전문성을 강화했으며, 소비자식품위생감시원의 인프라 구축을 통한 식품안전사업 홍보, 식품위생업소 지도·점검 및 사후관리를 합동 추진했다고 말했다.

장연국 위생과장은 “경기도 내에서 유일하게 우수기관으로 선정된 만큼 올해도 보다 넓은 분야의 식품안전사업과 식품위생업소의 지도·점검 할 것이며 즉각적인 민원 처리로 민원 지연 건수를 줄여 시민이 만족하는 식품으로부터 안전한 환경을 조성하겠다”고 밝혔다.
