[김현우 기자 = 경기북부] 경기도와 경기환경에너지진흥원은 환경 분야에서 일하기를 원하는 도내 청년들에게 기회를 제공하는 ‘환경 분야 청년 일자리 기회 강화 지원사업’을 추진한다고 29일 밝혔다.

이 사업은 도내 대학교 환경‧화학 분야 전공 재학생과 졸업생을 대상으로 방학 기간 중 환경산업과 환경시설 운영관리 등 관련분야 경력을 쌓고 직무역량을 키워 관련 기업에 취업 연계를 지원하는 과정이다.

환경 관련 전공 학생들에게 방학 기간 환경기업 연수 기회를 제공하는 기존의 ‘미래 직장 체험 프로그램’에 더해 올해는 프로그램 참여자의 실제 취업으로 이어질 수 있도록 환경기업에 채용을 연계하는 ‘환경 인재 좋은 직장 매칭’ 과정을 마련해 연수에서 취업까지 원스톱서비스를 추진한다.

도는 다음 달 중 공고를 통해 미래 직장 체험 프로그램 참여자를 모집할 계획이다. 서류심사를 거쳐 선발된 41명의 환경 분야 전공 대학생은 지정된 기업‧기관 등에서 실무 체험 연수를 하게 된다. 연수 기간은 여름방학 기간 내 1개월이며, 연수 중인 청년들은 월 190만 원의 수당을 받는다. 

이후 도는 ‘환경 인재 좋은 직장 매칭 사업’을 통해 미래 직장 체험 프로그램 참여자와 환경직무 취업 준비 도민 25명을 대상으로 기업 매칭 채용 연계형 인턴십을 추진해 청년 일자리 기회를 제공하고, 지역 내 일자리센터와 취업 상담사(컨설턴트) 등 취업전문가를 연계한 취업멘토링, 이력서·면접 컨설팅을 실시해 취업을 적극 독려할 계획이다. 

그간 테크로스환경서비스, 선일이씨티 등 20여 개의 환경기업이 참여해 최근 3년간 127명에게 연수 기회를 제공했으며, 그중 33명이 졸업 후 환경기업체에 취업했다.

김상철 경기도 북부환경관리과장은 “저탄소 녹색성장, 미세먼지 등 환경의 중요성이 커진 만큼 환경 전문인력을 양성해 취업으로 이어질 기회를 만들어 나갈 계획”이라며 “도내 환경 분야 전공 학생들과 환경기업들의 많은 관심과 참여를 부탁한다”라고 말했다.
