[김현우 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 태백시는 여름철 축산재해로 인한 축산피해를 최소화하기 위해 여름철 축산재해(태풍․폭염 등) 예방대책을 추진한다고 밝혔다.

기상청에서는 이번 여름은 강수량은 평년과 비슷하지만 대기 불안정과 평균수온 상승에 따라 국지성 집중호우와 태풍의 발생빈도가 증가할 것으로 전망하고 있다고 했다.

이에 태백시는 여름철 축산재해 피해 대비 신속 대응 체계 구축을 위해 오는 8월 말까지 2개반 4명으로 구성된 '여름철 축산 재해대책 상황팀'을 운영할 계획이라고 전했다.

축산농가에 기상 상황을 신속히 전파하고, 기상특보 여름철 재해 유형별 가축․축사시설 관리요령, 정전예방 요령 등 피해예방요령 분야별 세부 예방대책 지도 및 홍보를 강화해 나갈 예정이라고 했다. 

긴급 재해 발생시에는 피해상황 파악과 복구대응을 위해 유관기관과 긴밀하게 공조체계를 구축하여 재해예방, 피해경감, 지원대책 등 본격적인 여름철 재해 대응 태세를 갖출 계획이라고 했다.

태백시 관계자는 “가축피해를 최소화하기 위해 축산농가 행동요령을 숙지하여 주시기 바라고, 전기 과다사용으로 인한 화재예방에도 최선을 다해달라”고 당부했다.

한편, 2022년 6월 기준 태백시에는 63농가에서 약 6만8천6백만 마리의 소, 돼지, 닭 등 주요가축이 사육되고 있고, 축산업 허가(등록)시설은  94개소가 있다고 했다.
