[김현우 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 속초시가 오는 6월 12일에 사적 ‘속초 조양동 유적’ 일원에서 지역주민과 함께 2022년 상반기 내 고장 문화재 가꾸는 날 시민행사를 진행한다고 밝혔다.

이번 행사는 전국 주요 문화재 현장에서‘우리의 소중한 문화재, 알고, 찾고, 가꾸자!’라는 모토를 가지고 시민들이 자발적으로 참여하는 행사라고 했다.

이번 행사의 목적은 일반 국민들이 문화재지킴이와 함께 참여할 수 있는 전국적인 규모의 문화재 가꾸기 참여의 공간을 마련함과 동시에 문화재를 가꾸는 봉사문화의 사회적 관심과 분위기를 확산시키기 위함이라고 했다.

속초시는 동북아 문화교류의 산 증인으로 역사문화적 의미를 지니고 있는 조양동 유적에서 문화재에 관심이 많은 시민들과 함께 행사를 진행한다고 전했다. 

이 날 행사는 조양동 유적 내에 널려 있는 쓰레기 수거, 잡목 제거 및 제초작업, 배수로 정비 등 우리 곁에 있는 문화재를 보호하기 위한 활동을 진행한다고 했다.

속초시 관계자는“문화재는 우리 옆에서 살아숨쉬는 역사이다.”라면서“문화재 가꾸는 날 행사를 통해 문화재에 대한 애정을 키우고, 지역문화에 대한 이해를 도와 문화재가 지역의 소중한 문화관광상품임을 알게 되는 계기가 될 것이다.”라고 말했다.

속초시민이면 누구나 참석 가능하므로 속초의 역사 문화에 관심이 있는 시민의 많은 참여를 기다리고 있으며, 참가신청서는 속초시청 홈페이지에서 내려받아 작성하여 속초시 문화체육과 문화유산팀으로 신청하면 된다고 전했다.
