이는 기존 아날로그 방식의 무전기 사용 시 통신 수신감도가 떨어져 대원들 간에 긴밀한 연락체계 조성이 어렵다는 방범대의 애로사항에 따른 것으로, 무전기는 연합대와 11개 지대에 2대씩 보급될 예정이라고 전했다.

이날 참석한 시 관계자는 “지역치안 유지를 위해 솔선수범하는 방범대의 원활한 활동을 뒷받침하기 위해 앞으로도 지속적으로 관심을 기울이겠다”고 밝혔다.

방범기동순찰연합대장은 “새로운 디지털무전기 도입으로 순찰활동 중 긴급상황 발생 시 재빠르게 대응할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다”며, “지역사회 안전망 구축을 위해 더욱더 힘을 쏟겠다”고 감사를 표했다.

한편, 동두천시 방범기동순찰연합대는 연합대와 11개 지대로 구성되어 있으며 범죄취약지역 야간순찰 및 지역행사 지원 등 다양한 활동으로 치안유지와 시정발전에 기여하고 있다고 전했다.
