[김현우 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 연일 민생현장 행보를 소화하고 있는 김은혜 국민의힘 경기도지사 후보가 경기도민의 ‘혈세 지킴이’를 재차 강조했다.

김 후보는 28일 자신의 페이스북을 통해 “‘남의 돈’처럼 막 쓰는 세금이 아니라 내 가족의 가계부 쓰듯 효율적으로 쓰는 세금이냐로 경기도민의 삶이 달라진다”며, “도지사가 된다면, 엄마의 마음으로 도민의 세금을 쓰겠다”고 밝혔다.

전날 김 후보는 과천에 위치한 스마트 정거장과 사당역 경기버스라운지를 차례로 방문하고, 운영실태 파악에 나섰다. 김 후보에 따르면 1억원 가량의 스마트 정거장은 일 년 내내 더위와 추위로부터 이용객들을 보호하고, 월세와 인건비 등의 관리비도 들지 않아 설치 효과가 큰 것으로 확인됐다고 했다.

반면 뒤이어 찾은 사당역 ‘경기버스라운지’의 경우에는 이용객이 많지 않고, 연간 운영비가 월세 및 인건비 포함 4억여 원이 들어가고 있다. 실제로 김 후보가 퇴근시간 무렵에 방문했지만 이용객은 거의 없었다고 했다. 

이재명 전 지사가 세금 9억원을 들여 야심차게 마련했지만 운영(2020.10 개관)된 지 1년 반이 지나도록 이용하는 시민이 없어 방치되고 있는 실정이라고 전했다.

이에 김 후보는 “경기버스 라운지 한 개소를 만들 돈이라면 스마트 정거장을 여러 개 만들 수 있다”며, 초기비용과 유지비도 적게 들고 이용객도 월등하게 많은 다른 대안을 두고 예산을 비효율적으로 낭비하고 있다고 지적했다.
