[남상훈 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 25일 강릉시 관내 첫 모내기는 주문진읍 교항리 최선국 농가(0.5ha)에서 이앙할 예정이며, 벼품종은 조생종인 ‘진옥’이라고 밝혔다. 

강릉 지역의 벼농사는 일반적으로 4월 상순부터 4월 하순까지 못자리에 볍씨 파종을 하며 이후부터 한 달 정도 세심한 관리가 필요하고 특히 영동지역은 변덕스러운 봄 기상으로 육묘단계의 병해와 생리장해 발생이 타지역 보다 많아 지역 농업인들의 애를 태우며, 이에 농가들은 풍년 농사를 기약하며 재배 관리에 만전을 기하고 있고, 이번 첫 모내기는 작년과 비슷한 시기에 이뤄진다고 전했다.

강릉시 관계자는 “4~5월 못자리의 적절한 관리로 적기에 이앙이 이루어져 영농에 차질이 없도록 영농현장 기술지원과 농업인 애로해결을 위해 지역담당 일제출장제 운영으로 총력을 다해 영농현장지원을 할 계획”이라고 말했다.
