[남상훈 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 동해시는 장애인의 사회참여 확대와 평생학습 필요성 증가에 따라 2022년 '장애인 평생교육 프로그램' 사업을 운영한다고 밝혔다.

'장애인 평생교육 프로그램'은 동해시에서 주관하고 동해시 지적장애인자립지원센터, 농아인협회동해시지부, 시각장애인연합회 동해시 지부의 회원들이 참여·진행하며, 프로그램은 정서적 안정과 신체적 활동을 골고루 포함할 수 있도록 구성됐으며, 오는 4월 말부터 12월까지 약 8개월간 동해시립발한도서관에서 진행될 예정이라고 했다.

정서적 프로그램으로는 장애인의 기초 문해 능력 습득을 위한 한글 문해교육과 그림책을 읽은 후 독후 활동, 만들기 등 책놀이 프로그램을 진행할 계획이며, 신체적 활동 프로그램인 원예수업은 꽃꽂이, 꽃장식, 리스만들기 등 다양한 프로그램을 추진해 문화체험 활동과 동시에 생명 존중 및 창의력 표현능력 향상에 도움을 줄 것으로 기대된다고 전했다.

전춘미 평생교육센터소장은 “전국적으로 일반인들에 대한 평생학습의 관심과 지원에 비해 장애인들의 평생학습과 지원은 기대에 미치지 못하고 있는 실정으로 장애인 평생학습이 확대될 수 있도록 노력할 것이며, 이번 장애인 평생학습 프로그램을 통해 도서관에 대한 친밀감을 갖고 자주 이용하는 계기가 되길 희망한다”고 말했다.
