이날 양주시 부흥로에 마련된 선거사무소 개소식에는 김성수 전 국회의원, 고조흥 전 국회의원을 비롯해 양주시민, 국민의힘 당원 등 300여명이 참석했으며, 또한, 국민의힘 경기도당 위원장인 김성원국회의원이 축전을 전했다.

국민의힘 강수현 예비후보는 “36년여 공직생활의 경험과 시정에 대한 전반적인 비젼과 발전방향을 제시 할 수 있는 행정전문가로서 양주시를 명실상부한 경기북부의 거점도시로 발전시킬 것이며, 반드시 선거승리로 지난 4년간 시정공백으로 상대적 박탈감과 절망에 빠진 시민들에게 희망을 되찾아드리겠습니다.” 고 포부를 밝혔다.
