[장선희 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 오는 16일, 양양남대천 송이조각공원 내 파크골프장이 동절기 휴면기간을 끝내고 정식개장한다고 밝혔다.

군은 지난 1일부터 15일까지 시범운영기간을 거쳐 오는 16일부터 본격 운영을 시작하며, 남대천 파크골프장은 동절기 동안 휴면기간을 통해 잔디를 보호하고 골프장 이용객에게 양질의 구장을 제공하기 위해 지난 3월말까지 휴장했었다고 했다.

파크골프장은 지난해 7월, 27홀로 새롭게 단장하여 코로나19로 움츠려있던 어르신들의 생활에 활력을 불어 넣으며 많은 인기를 누리고 있다고 전했다.

파크골프는 골프의 축소판으로 골프채보다 짧은 나무로 된 채를 이용해 나무로 만든 공을 쳐 잔디 위 홀에 넣는 스포츠고, 장비나 시간에 크게 구애받지 않아 도심에서도 쉽게 즐길 수 있으며, 또 나무로 된 채로 나무 공을 치기 때문에 장타에 대한 부담은 없지만, 최대 비거리가 50~70m에 이를 정도로 운동량은 적지 않다고 했다. 

남대천 파크골프장은 동절기 잔디보호를 위해 지난 12월부터 3월까지 휴장기간을 갖고 4월부터 올해 11월까지 운영된다고 했다.
