[김현우 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 오는 4월부터 11월까지 태백시는 철암보건지소에서 철암, 구문소동 주민 대상으로 건강생활 실천 독려를 위한 ‘9988 건강교실’을 운영한다고 밝혔다.

이번 프로그램은 고혈압, 당뇨병 등 만성질환을 사전에 예방하고 자가건강관리 능력 향상을 위해 추진된다고 전했다.

교육은 매주 주 2회 1시간씩 공예 만들기, 실버 체조 등이 진행되며, 참여자 건강관리를 위해 교육 전 혈압, 당뇨, 콜레스테롤 수치를 측정하고 건강 상담을 실시할 계획이며, 참여를 희망하는 자는 오는 28일까지 유선 또는 태백보건소를 방문해 접수하면 된다고 전했다.

보건소 관계자는 “지역 주민들의 건강수준 향상을 위해 건강프로그램을 지속적으로 발굴해 나가겠다”고 말했다.

한편, 태백시보건소는 지난 12월에 ‘9988 건강교실’에 참여한 지역주민들의 작품 전시와 건강 프로그램 홍보를 위해 ‘2021년 철암보건지소 성과전시회’를 개최한 바 있다고 전했다.
