[김현우 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 속초시가 야간 생활환경 개선을 위해 기존 노후 보안등을 정비한다고 밝혔다. 

이번 사업은 지난해 정비 완료한 청호동을 제외한 관내 7개 동에 설치된 노후 보안등 143기에 대하여 100백만원의 사업비를 투자하여 기존 방전 등기구를 LED 등기구로 교체하는 사업으로 기존 조명의 경우 여름철이면 각종 벌레와 이물질이 모여 수면방해 등 야간 생활불편이 발생하였으나 LED조명 교체로 점진적으로 해소될 것으로 기대된다고 했다.  

원철호 시 건축과장은“노후 보안등을 지속적으로 정비하여 야간에도 시민들의 생활불편이 없도록 최선을 다하겠다.”라고 말했다.
