북부지방산림청은 백두대간을 중심으로 역사·문화·자연자원 및 심미적 가치를 발굴하여 국가 숲길로 지정한 백두대간트레일 147.5km, DMZ트레일 19.5km, DMZ펀치볼둘레길 73.2km 및 약수숲길 44.8km 총 285km의 숲길을 체계적으로 운영·관리하고 있다고 전했다.
